I was a child of the sixties, and like any young lad in Britain coming-of-age in the seventies and, I knew that continental European cinema was the only way to see films as the directors intended.

Fortunate enough to live between London and the French border I had ample opportunity to see French cinema as the French saw it, and other continental films in specialist venues in our own capital.

Magazines like Continental Film Review were my staple reading, but tragically ninety percent of the films featured would never come to our shores, so special seasons of European and world cinema on Britain's prestigious BB2 were events to be savoured.

It was a different world back then... A naked adult breast on a television show would be headline news, but a film like Is-Slottet could be shown uncut on BBC2 and pass unremarked. Naturist magazines full of naked families were to be found on the shelves of every newsagent and no-one gave them a second thought.

In these liberal times the BBFC is inclined to certify continental and international films with minimal censorship, but still there is a huge number of films which deserve a wider audience but sadly will are unlikely ever to see the light of day here.

Fortunately the BBFC does permit UK residents to import films without a UK certificate, so long as they are for personal use only.

For this reason we at Is-Slottet.Com, using our extensive contacts among film buffs across the seven continents, are able to offer you a range of cinematic gems from the furthest flung corners of the globe.

Most of our titles are long out-of-print and have entered the public domain (Child Bride), or are available only to a very restricted local market (Melody). Inevitably, without Hollywood fiance behind them, many are not digitally remastered, but all are eminently viewable.

Films are sent on region-free disks in protective sleeves.

British buyers are reminded that, in accordance with BBFC regulations, films are dispatched from outside the UK, and only one of each title may be thus imported, and of course only for personal use.

Buyers in other countries are of course welcome, but it is the buyers' responsibility to ensure the film is legal in their country.   Any import duties or other tarifs incurred through import are the responsibility of the buyer.

None of the films sold by Is-Slottet.Com contain indecent or illegal images. All films are of course legal in the USA and most European countries.

Naturist titles are just that: naturist. They are intended for people who enjoy and appreciate the naturist, clothes-free lifestyle. Anyone looking for smut or sexual content should look elsewhere.
